SANDY, UTAH — The community of Sandy is mourning the loss of Isaac William Hardy, who passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 19. Born on March 7, 2007, Isaac is being remembered by his family, friends, and community as a gifted, compassionate, and deeply thoughtful young man whose life, though tragically short, was filled with curiosity, creativity, and service to others.

Isaac was the beloved son of Charles Campbell Hardy and Jennifer Shimai Loris Hardy. From an early age, he was described as bright, warm-hearted, and intellectually curious, with a personality that made those around him feel valued and included. Family members recall his infectious smile and his natural ability to connect with others in meaningful ways.

A graduate of American Preparatory Academy, Isaac was known as a diligent and motivated student who approached learning with enthusiasm and focus. He later attended Brigham Young University, where he pursued studies in pure mathematics. His love for logic, patterns, and abstract thinking shaped much of his academic life, and he was known for engaging deeply with both mathematical and philosophical ideas.

Beyond academics, Isaac was a remarkably creative individual with a wide range of artistic and technical talents. His interests included sewing, crocheting, knitting, lace making, painting, calligraphy, piano performance and composition, Rubik’s Cube solving, and ballroom dancing. These hobbies reflected not only his creativity but also his appreciation for structure, detail, and expression. Friends and family often recall how he encouraged others to participate in his interests, turning his passions into shared experiences.

Isaac also devoted himself to service. At the time of his passing, he had recently begun his mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Salt Lake City East Mission. Those who served alongside him noted his humility, compassion, and deep commitment to helping others. He often expressed joy in service, finding meaning and fulfillment in supporting those in need.

He is remembered as someone who formed friendships easily and sincerely, connecting with people of all ages and backgrounds. His kindness, intelligence, and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Isaac was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl Devon Hardy, and his maternal grandmother, Susan Jeanette Jackson. He is survived by his parents, siblings Wesley Charles Hardy and Abigail Mae Hardy Carpenter, grandparents LouAnn Campbell and Robert Craig Loris, and a large circle of extended family and friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Funeral services will be held in Sandy, Utah, where loved ones will gather to celebrate his life, his accomplishments, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
